Spouse Loss Grief Support Group

Experience being in a group of others who get it, where others know that this type of pain stays with you, no matter how many years it has been. Often those left behind struggle to find their identity since they only knew themselves in a partnership. Your spouse was the one you talked with daily, did activities with, and dreamed about the future with. This is a great place to talk about the loneliness and unique experience of losing a spouse, that is hard for others to truly grasp.

Hosting this group is Jenny Johnson, who has been doing grief work for 5+ years, and has done most of her counseling work with the spouse who has been
left behind. Jenny also has experience doing grief counseling through a hospice program so she is familiar with the process of becoming your spouse’ caregiver.

This group will be hosted in person. This group will be hosted in person at our Eagan office on Saturday mornings and will run for 4 weeks with the option of continuing. Our next session is planned to start in mid September, 2022. This group is covered by most insurances, and discounted rates are available. With a card on file each session will be $25 if not using your insurance. We are happy to verify your insurance benefits and let you know your options prior to the group to ensure you don’t have surprise bills. Complete this interest form and we will contact you with further details and to confirm if we have a spot available.

Sibling Loss Grief Support Group

Have you or a loved one experienced the heart-breaking loss of a sibling?

The sibling relationship is like no other because siblings are set up naturally to be a team versus their parents. No doubt many memories linger from doing activities together as kids, and then as they mature together, siblings teach each other invaluable things, sometimes you didn’t realize how invaluable these things were until they died. You are supposed to be able to continue to share the big moments (job opportunities, weddings, and your kid’s birthday) and the small (venting about something that happened at work or something weird your mom said) with your sibling. And most of all, you assume you will have that person around to brainstorm with and emotionally support each other when your parents die. It is crushing to know that you may be the only one now that will have to handle all those details yourself.

Hosting this group is Jenny Johnson, who has been doing grief work for 5+ years, and in particular has a love for working with those with loss of a sibling. She thinks that siblings often are forgotten and likely did not get the attention that a parent or spouse might have received when this person died, and thereafter.
